Gabriel Guillén, Guitar (Venezuela)
Was born in Maracay, Venezuela. At the age of 8 began to study the guitar by the Uruguayan guitar player Mario Vidalin who introduce him the technique of Abel Carlevaro and the knowing about the music from Uruguay and Argentina. Years later Guillén studied by Leopoldo Igarza, Jose Gregorio Guanchez and Alberto Espinosa at the Escuela Superior de Música Jose Angel Lamas. During his Venezuelan time between 1984 and 1988 he was playing concerts in almost all guitar festivals in Venezuela, Venezuelan Central Bank, the Escuela Superior de Música Jose Angel Lamas and in about 15 cities in his country. He won 1987 the third prize in the Antonio Lauro Competition and the first prize for the Rotary International. During this time he visited master classes by Abel Carlevaro, Luis Zea,Rafael Benatar, Bartolomé Diaz and Franka Verhagen, one of his most important productions were 1986 for Radio Caracas Television in the program Clasicos Dominicales, where the most important artists in Venezuela were presented.
1988 he won a scholarship to study in Europe and at the same year he moved to Vienna, Austria. Visiting the classes in Vienna by Walter Würdinger and in Zürich by Konrad Ragossnig. Guillén was giving concerts in almost all European countries and South America. After completing his studies in Europe Guillén recived the Merit Award of the Austrian government, the "Amigo de Venezuela" Award of the foundation Venezuela Positiva and the honor Award of the Rotary Club Caracas-Avila.
He teaches at the Joseph Haydn Konservatorium in Eisenstadt, Austria and
also he teaches in master classes and play concerts in more than 25 countries.
Today Gabriel Guillén is one of the most internationally acclaimed players, between the Gendai Guitar Magazine in Tokyo, the University of Dallas or the Festival Guitarras del Mundo in Argentina, he always love to be on the stage and his life is for the stage

Gabriel Guillén est né à Maracay, Venezuela. A l'âge de 8 ans, il débute ses études de guitare chez l' Uruguayen Mario Vidalin qui l'a familiarisé avec la technique d'Abel Carlevaro et qui l'a initié à la musique uruguayenne et argentine. Plus tard Guillén travailla avec Leopold Igarza, José Gregorio Guanchez et Alberto Espinosa à l'Ecole Supérieure de Musique José Angel Lamas. Entre 1984 et 1988, il donna des concerts à travers tout le Venezuela dans presque tous les festivals du pays. Il obtint en 1987 le 3e prix du Concours "Antonio Lauro" et le 1er prix du "Rotary International". Durant cette période il suivit des master class chez Abel Carlevaro, Luis Zea, Rafael Benatar, Bartolomé Diaz et Franka Verhagen. Une de ses plus importantes représentations fut en 1986 pour Radio Caracas Television dans le programme "Clasicos Dominicales" au cours duquel les artistes les plus renommés du Venezuela furent présentés.
En 1988 il obtint une bourse pour étudier en Europe et au cours de la même année il déménage à Vienne, Autriche. Il participe aux cours de Walter Würdinger à Vienne et à ceux de Konrad Ragossnig à Zürich. Guillén a donné des concerts dans plusieurs pays européens et sud-américains. Après avoir achevé ses études en Europe, Guillén reçut le Prix du Mérite (Merit Award) décerné par le gouvernement autrichien, le prix "Amigo de Venezuela" prix de la fondation "Venezuela Positiva" et le prix d'honneur du Rotary Club Caracas-Avila.
Il enseigne au Conservatoire Joseph Haydn à Eisenstadt en Autriche et il donne également des Master Class ainsi que des concerts dans plus de 25 pays.
Actuellement Gabriel Guillén est un des musiciens internationaux les plus reconnus que ce soit à travers le Gendai Guitar Magazine de Tokyo, l'Université de Dallas ou le Festival Guitarras del Mundo en Argentine; c'est en public et sur scène qu'il donne le meilleur de lui-même.
